As a senior citizen, try to handle your skin as gently as possible when bathing or washing your face. Use water that is warm instead of hot or cold water.

When bathing, do not use bath oils because they may make the bathtub or the floor of the bathroom slippery, which is risky and may result into your falling.
Moisturize the skin
Due to the effects of old age; you may have observed that your skin feels drier than it used to be. You can use moisturizers to solve this problem.
Do not purchase moisturizer that contains fragrance or alcohol. Moisturizers made from natural products will help to sooth your skin and relieve any dryness or itchiness.

Protect your skin from the sun
Exposing your skin to the scorching sun may make it develop sunburns, which will not compliment your skin. Do you know that you can get sunburns even when you are in the water or when the sky is cloudy? The rays of the sun are strongest between 10 am to 4pm so stay out of the sun whenever possible.

Smoking can have many adverse effects on your skin and enhance the formation of wrinkles and age spots.
The blood vessels in the outer layer of your skin will narrow and reduce the blood flow, which results in your skin not receiving enough nutrients and oxygen.
Smoking also affects your health and may put you at risk of developing cancer. In your golden years, smoking is a vice that is better off left in the past.
